Engaging High Performers in Times of Talent Shortage

In today’s workplace, only about a quarter of employees truly identify with the company they work for. Various factors contribute to this trend, including the ubiquitous “war for talents,” globalization, digitization, and the generation-specific demands of employees. The alarming statistic mentioned at the outset, less than 20%, gains even more significance in the face of the growing shortage of skilled and managerial personnel.   1. Practiced Company Values: This refers to the actual implementation of the values set by a company in employees’ daily work life. When employees understand the company’s values and can see these values being practiced in their work, they feel a stronger connection to their own company. Lived values can strengthen employees’ trust and create a sense of belonging.
  2. Inspiring Purpose: A clearly defined company purpose or mission that goes beyond mere profit goals can motivate employees and create a sense of significance. When employees understand how their work can have a positive impact on the world or society, they are more engaged and satisfied overall.
  3. Motivating Company Culture: Company culture encompasses shared values, norms, behaviors, and traditions within an organization. A positive company culture that promotes teamwork, collaboration, recognition, and a healthy work-life balance can also increase employee satisfaction and engagement. A culture that supports the growth and development of employees can help attract and retain talented individuals.
  4. Transparent Leadership Strategy and Communication Culture: The way leaders guide the company and their communication behavior play a crucial role in Employee Experience. Transparent and open communication from leaders can strengthen trust and reduce uncertainty. It is also important for leaders to convey the company’s vision and purpose and lead employees towards these goals.

Employee Experience is not only important for internal communication but also a strategic component for positioning your company as an attractive employer externally. A successful Employee Experience not only optimizes your employees’ daily work life but also creates an inviting and appreciative work atmosphere.
